Francesco Moser is a former professional cyclist from Italy who won many races during his career, including several Grand Tours. In addition to his success as a racing cyclist, Moser also founded his own bicycle brand in 1980, specializing in the production of high-performance racing bicycles. Moser's bicycles are known for their innovative design and use of high-quality materials. One of the most famous Moser models is the Hour Record bike, with which Moser set the world hour record in 1984. This bike featured a radical design with an extended frame and a rear disc wheel, which helped Moser set a new distance record of 51.151 km. Today, Moser bikes are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts who value their historical significance and reputation for quality and innovation. Although the brand no longer produces new bicycles, its legacy lives on through the many Moser bikes ridden and admired by cyclists around the world.
The frame is a very high-quality aluminum construction. Aluminum frames are light, stiff and offer efficient power transmission, which makes them popular for racing bikes. The geometry is special, which ensures both a sporty and an aerodynamic ride. Racing bikes like the Moser Leader AX Evolution are designed for use on the road and are particularly suitable for racing, intensive training sessions or sporty riding.
At the beginning of the 1960s, Campagnolo's competitors caught up with the supposed lead in technology and innovation, which is why Tullio Campagnolo was under pressure to revise his outdated GranSport gear system. The result was the Campagnolo Record, which was the first derailleur to combine the names Campagnolo and Record. It also had an improved derailleur cage and offset pulleys, which ensured a more constant chain spacing. However, this technical overhaul was already standard at the time with Simplex, Huret and Gian Robert, for example, which is why the group was initially a disappointment and only became more popular over time. The Campagnolo Record group is still available today and has recently been released as modern variants.
